Thank you for your interest in joining ArtCorgi!
What do we look for in potential ArtCorgi artists?
We look for creative, skilled and diligent artists who are ready to work hard to make a positive impact in people’s lives while making a living doing what they love. We don’t require art diplomas (but if you have them, awesome!), we look for amazing art and unparalelled work ethic. We want you to be in this as much as we are.
What should I prepare for my application?
- You need to be 18 or older to apply. If you are not, please do not sign up to our waitlist until you are. No exceptions.
- A bit of information about you and your background as an artist.
- A link to your portfolio showcasing your best work (it doesn’t need to be a fancy website at all, just don’t send us to your Twitter feed)
- Browse our current shop to see what our top rated and best selling artists & styles offer as that can help you determine what our clients love and create a commission listing that sells with ease.
Broaden Your Reach
We handle marketing, client communication, and payment so you can focus on what you do best: creating great work.
We exist to help up-and-coming artists gain more coverage, establish meaningful connections with everyday patrons, and gain more work.
Maintain Creative Control
Rather than give you direction, clients commission work based on samples you feature on our site. Each style of commission you would like to offer is presented as a separate product. This enables you to stick to your unique style(s) and gives clients a better understanding of what their final work of art will look like.
Work On Your Own Terms
Rather than work with pre-established deadlines, you will establish minimum price points for all your work, how much time you need to work on different types of commissions, and how many commissions you are willing to work on at once. You may also accept special requests and establish unique terms with more involved clients.
Save Time
We reduce back-and-forth with clients by managing the payment process and restricting creative input to reference photos, initial notes, and one round of client feedback based on your initial, rough sketch (you are, of course, welcome to accept requests for additional client communication and control if you choose).
Earn More
On ArtCorgi, you earn 70% of your work’s final sale price. In addition to managing payments (which are made upfront and held in escrow until you complete your work), we test your work at different price points (above your minimum) to optimize your sales and earnings. Because we set prices ourselves, ArtCorgi will not become a bargain basement art marketplace.
Expand Your Portfolio
The copyright of all art you create and sell through ArtCorgi will remain with you. Your clients will be given a worldwide, fully-paid, royalty-free, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-commercial, perpetual license with the right to reproduce, distribute, transmit, create derivative works of, and publicly display their commissions for personal purposes.
