- Turnaround time: Two weeks (more if more than one character is requested).
- Subject options: Drawn traditionally with pencil on paper, then inked and colored in Photoshop. These pieces have something of a comic book style to them. Realistic likenesses of people, animals and fantasy situations are best. Cartoon characters and other styles can be requested. Keep it PG – nothing too sexual or horrific. If you don’t need it colored, the price will be lower.
Your final work will arrive as a digital image, ready for you to set as social media cover images, profile avatars, desktop backgrounds, mobile device lock screens, and more. We encourage you to print your digital commission through the service of your choice, though we’re happy to send physical prints directly to you as well (see our commission prints category for options). Your image, which will arrive as a JPEG, at least 3000 by 3000 pixels and a minimum of 250 pixels per inch, will be of high enough quality to print in virtually any format.
About Garrett Gilchrist
A 2005 graduate of the University of Southern California, New York-based Garrett Gilchrist has been creating art professionally for over fifteen years.
Garrett specializes in realistic likenesses of people. He is a keen observer of what makes a face unique. He is known for his high-quality digital paintings, as well as crisp, comic-book style line art, which is drawn and inked traditionally. He also paints traditionally using acrylics, in black and white. His style is gritty but elegant, with a gentle playfulness rather than being heavy and dark. His work often has a sense of fantasy and adventure to it, and he’s equally skilled at drawing cartoon characters and emulating existing styles.
