Isn’t this portrait the best? Jake commissioned from Mourphine (in her Simple Cartoon style) for his friend Justin and we understand it went over quite well!
Backstory Behind the Piece: Q&A with Jake
ArtCorgi (AC): What inspired you to commission this art?
Jake (J): I always thought it would be a super cool idea as a gift to get an illustration commissioned, it took me a while to figure out how to go about it I was asking my friends if they knew anyone that could do it, with no luck so I just went searching on the web and found ArtCorgi and thought it was the neatest thing ever.
AC: Many people have a super hard time choosing a style of art in which they want their commission to be made. What drew you to Mourphine’s illustration style in particular?
J: I kind of had an idea of what style of illustration I wanted and was looking around trying to find an illustrator that could do that style. I saw Mourphine’s work and knew that was exactly what I wanted, and I am so happy how it turned out!
AC: What advice would you give to a friend who is commissioning art for the first time?
J: Advice I would give is to make sure you have a bunch of reference photos and to be descriptive so they know exactly what you are looking for.
