An Epic Adventure of a Family Portrait

We’re absolutely crazy about this commission Monty had made for his family. He chose Bloodyman88’s character designs for the piece and sent over fantastic, detailed, and carefully considered direction for Bloodyman88 to work with.

Backstory Behind the Piece – Q&A with Monty

ArtCorgi (AC): Does your family have a history of posing for group portraits?

Monty (M): Yes, we have had prof photos done every 10 years or so. So he have had nice family photos done before and my parents even had a painter do a painting of the kids when I was younger.

AC: What inspired you to commission this piece?

M: I spend a lot of time watching movie trailers, and I just thought it would be cool if my family looked like that.

AC: How did you go about creating a special character illustration prompt for each family member in this portrait?

M: I wrote out character descriptions of each family member. Then I searched for those descriptions into google images. This gave me ideas for characters to then search and then I iterated from there.
