Timothy commissioned these two fun comic portraits for himself and his girlfriend from Blacksmiley. As popular as her black and white comic portrait style is, this is the first time someone has chosen to commission a set of them, and we love the effect. His and hers social media portraits!

Backstory Behind the Piece – Q&A with Timothy

ArtCorgi (AC): What inspired you to commission these portraits?

Timothy (T): I’m actually planning on getting multiple commissions done of me and my girlfriend to later surprise her as she moves into our first apartment together.

AC: What drew you to Blacksmiley’s comic style?

T:Should that REALLY be a question? Who wouldn’t want to see themselves drawn comic style. They came out better than expected!

AC: What advice would you give to someone who is commissioning art for the first time?

T: Always have at least a few well lighted pictures on hand. In-case the Artist needs to get a certain angle or look just right.
