ArtCorgi: What drew you to the art world?

Blacksmiley: Drawing was always a hobby for my, but I decided to become a pro and went to college to gain more knowledge and experience.

A: What are your strengths and specialties as an artist?

B: Characters. I love drawing characters of any kind. It’s interesting from a description to bring to life an awesome character. And when it comes to them I really like to focus a lot on their faces, expressions.. And among these, mostly on their eyes.

A: What do you find most challenging about being an artist?

B: Everything is challenging, because each time you have to deal with something new, that has a new personality and attitude.

A: What are your future artistic plans? (e.g. To become a famous animator? To be commissioned to create a portrait of the Queen of England? To run your own illustration boutique? To illustrate children’s books? To become a famous album cover designer?)

B: I’d like to work in the video games industry as concept artist. Right now I’m a jr. art director in an advertising company.

A: What is your favorite genre, style, or subject matter to draw/paint?

B: I love fantasy! I might not have as many fantasy-related artworks as I’d wish to, because free time to do that is hard to find, but whenever I can I sketch a character or when I get a commission of that kind it’s a pleasure for me to do it.
