Backstory Behind the Piece: Q&A With Heather

ArtCorgi (AC): What inspired you to commission this art?

Heather (H): My fiancee and I are huge geeks! That’s actually a lot of what brought us together in the first place. So when it came to our wedding, we knew we’d want to do something unique that really brought out our personality. I’m so excited to see this as the themed artwork for our reception.

AC: How did you go about selecting an artist/style?

H: Since we love to read comics, I knew we should select someone who seemed like they could do a piece true to the classic “comic book” art style. Blacksmiley’s art was fantastic, as soon as I saw her past commissions, I knew she was the perfect person for the job!

AC: What advice would you give to a friend who is interested in commissioning art for the first time?

H: Dream big! It’s so amazing to see an idea that you’ve had drawn out and brought to life. Plus, websites like ArtCorgi make it super easy to do your research on what style and artists you like!
