A Sweet Birthday Portrait for a Soon-to-Be-Mother

Nell Fallcard has been creating some awesome art for ArtCorgi clients lately, and this piece, done in her cartooney style, is one of my favorites! Commissioned by Ghina as a birthday present for a friend of hers who recently discovered she will be having a baby, this piece is sweet, genuine, and fun. Ghina was kind enough to share some backstory behind the piece, which you can discover in the Q&A below. :)

The Story Behind the Commission

ArtCorgi: What inspired you to commission a art of your friend for her birthday?

Ghina: The uniqueness of the idea! I wanted to send her something special that she cannot get anywhere. A cartoon of her felt like the best idea since she is also expecting a baby and it would be a nice poster to have in her future baby’s room!!

AC: How long have you known your friend?

G: I have known my friend for almost 12 years, but currently we are living in different countries.

AC: We love how this commission came out. What advice would you give to other people who would like to commission art as gifts and want to commission something that feels just as fun?

G: If you know anything special or specific about the person who you are sending this to (like their favorite color, hobby, or places) it would really help. You can have this art gift for absolutely any occasion! It would help to have a theme or thought in mind, but even if you are not sure, ArtCorgi’s staff and artists do really help!
